Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 -- Odisha is set to create a unique record on September 17 by planting75 lakh saplings to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday.
The plantation drive will be a symbolic gift to the Prime Minister, officials announced.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Satyabrata Sahu, said the massive programme would see the participation of students from all high schools and higher secondary schools across the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Sahu described students as "torchbearers of green consciousness." Their collective energy and commitment, he said, would ensure the success of the plantation drive and help strengthen long-term environmental protection. ...
