Bhubaneswar, Jan. 2 -- The Odisha government will soon implement the Kutumb (family welfare) scheme for the families of the state's freedom fighters, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion of Dr Harekrushna Mahatab's death anniversary and the 39th Freedom Fighters' Day, the Chief Minister said the scheme is currently under process and will be rolled out shortly.

Majhi described the observance of All-India Freedom Fighters' Day on Dr Mahatab's death anniversary as a rare coincidence and a moment of pride for the people of Odisha. He said Dr Mahatab occupies a unique place among India's greatest freedom fighters.
