Bhubaneswar, Aug. 9 -- The Odisha Government will celebrate Local Self-Government Day on August 31 with a week-long series of public outreach programmes across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) from August 25 to 30, highlighting the role of citizens in making cities clean, green, and vibrant.
According to the Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department, the celebrations will focus on promoting citizen participation, environmental awareness, cleanliness, and community bonding.
Key activities include an Urban Plantation Drive under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", identification of suitable land for sapling plantations, and planting of locally available species.
