Bhubaneswar, March 22 -- The Odisha government will soon formulate a new water policy and take steps to restore depleted and polluted river channels, Chief Minister Majhi announced.
Speaking at a function organized by the State Water Resources Department on the occasion of World Water Day, Majhi emphasized the government's key role in water conservation and management.
He highlighted ongoing water disputes with various states and assured that they would be resolved expeditiously.
"The water dispute with Chhattisgarh over the Mahanadi was discussed during my meeting with the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhavan today," Majhi said.
