Bhubaneswar, Oct. 11 -- The Odisha government has set a tentative target to procure 93 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy during the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2025-26, which is expected to yield about 63 lakh MT of rice.
For Kharif, the procurement target is 73 lakh MT of paddy, while for Rabi, it is 20 lakh MT. However, the government clarified that any additional paddy brought by registered farmers to mandis will also be procured.
The KMS 2025-26 will begin on October 1, 2025, and conclude on September 30, 2026. Procurement will be conducted separately for Kharif and Rabi seasons, and paddy will bepurchased from registered farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
