Bhubaneswar, Feb. 4 -- Odisha has taken significant steps to prevent the spread of forest fires this year by creating an extensive firebreak line stretching approximately 20,461 kilometers, coupled with advanced technical measures for forest fire management.
Dr. K. Murugesan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), told reporters that the Forest Department is in the final stage of preparations to tackle the upcoming forest fire season effectively.
"We are emphasising both technology and field-level measures to ensure rapid detection and control of fires," he said.
