Bhubaneswar, Oct. 10 -- The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police today seized nine vehicles and bank deposits amounting to Rs.22.58 lakh from two drug peddlers, following an order issued by the Competent Authority, Kolkata, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to STF sources, the seized assets were illegally acquired from the ganja trade over the past six years by Bikash Kumar Digal and Soumya Ranjan Digal, both residents of Keredi village in Kandhamal district and currently residing in Bhubaneswar.
Under Chapter V-A of the NDPS Act, properties earned through narcotics trafficking within the last six years can be seized and forfeited.
