Bhubaneswar, May 4 -- : The Odisha government has stepped up its efforts to ensure round-the-clock drinking water supply in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) through an ambitious expansion of urban water infrastructure under the Public Health Engineering Organisation's (PHEO) Annual Action Plan for 2026-29.

According to official estimates, the population across Odisha's 86 ULBs is projected to reach nearly 31.5 lakh by 2026. Currently, these urban centres receive a combined drinking water supply of around 452 million litres per day (MLD).
