Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- In a major crackdown, Odisha Police have detained 119 individuals, including 117 aspirants and two middlemen, in connection with a recruitment scam linked to the Sub-Inspector (SI) examination conducted by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB).

The arrests came after the OPRB abruptly postponed the SI written examination, scheduled for October 5 and 6, citing "unforeseen reasons." Fresh dates are yet to be announced.

The sudden postponement sparked criticism from opposition parties. Both the Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) accused the ruling BJP of governance failure and raised questions about the integrity of the recruitment process.
