Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- Odisha has achieved a historic milestone in rice procurement this year, with over 75 lakh metric tons (MT) of paddy arriving at various mandis (markets) across the state during the ongoing Kharif season. Official sources reported that a total of 75,45,381 MT of paddy was received, and 75,20,212 MT successfully procured as of Wednesday.

This year, approximately 18,11,988 farmers have sold their paddy through the state's procurement system. Of the total rice collected, about 73,46,226 MT has been lifted by millers from the mandis.
