Bhubaneshwar, July 29 -- Odisha Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo today called on Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi and sought additional central grants for refurbishment of critical concerns in the power sector.

Singh Deo urged the minister to help set up a disaster resilient power infrastructure in Odisha.

He sought early sanction of Rs 3069 crores the under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).



As Odisha frequently faces cyclones and floods, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) has proposed setting up of a disaster-resilient power infrastructure with selective underground cabling 30 km from the coastline.
