Bhubaneswar, Jan. 15 -- Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Odisha have formally entered the tourism and hospitality sector, marking a significant step toward women's economic empowerment in the state. As part of this initiative, around 4,000 women members from 1,000 SHGs will receive training in food supply services, event management, and tent and catering operations.
To facilitate this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Mission Shakti Department and the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) on Thursday.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida by Mission Shakti Director Dr. Monika Priyadarshini and THSC CEO Rajan Bahadur.
