Bhubaneswar, April 21 -- Odisha's rich heritage and culture is on the verge of extinction, and it is imperative to remain in touch with history otherwise everything will be taken away, said researchers here.
"Our history is the basis of the development of a civilization and its vast wealth. The huge cultural flow that has been created through our monasteries, temples, forts, food, clothes, culture, is on the verge of extinction due to today's extreme modernity. If we won't keep history in our minds, one day everything will be taken away from us," said Professor Kharavela Mohanty, a prominent historian and scholar from Odisha.
He said this while participating in the third anniversary of the Dhenkanal Heritage Walks (DHW), yesterday.
