Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1 -- Odisha's per capita debt burden stands at Rs 26,978 in the current fiscal 2025-26 till October 31 while the cumulative loan burden of Odisha is pegged at Rs 1,26,799 crore, the Odisha Assembly was informed on Monday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, replying to a query by BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, however maintained the state's financial profile is healthy, saying the debt ceiling analyzed by 15th finance Commission and Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, the debt stock and Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) rate remains below the fixed fiscal metric.
