Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Odisha's first Mud Crab Hatchery, with a production capacity of 500,000 seed units, is set to be established in Paradip, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of the state's mud crab farmers.

A tripartite agreement between the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department's ECRICC - GCF (providing financial support), the Odisha Fisheries Directorate, and the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (offering technical expertise) will be finalised shortly to facilitate the project's implementation.

Odisha Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister Ganeshram Singh Khuntia today approved signing of the agreement for this highly anticipated initiative.
