Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- Maize is rapidly emerging as the second most important cereal crop after paddy in Odisha, with 15 districts and 45 blocks already brought under the Mukhyamantri Maka Mission (MMM).
The first State-Level Consultative Workshop under MMM was held today, attended by officials from the Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment Department.
The workshop deliberated on the mission's objectives and strategies to strengthen maize cultivation and marketing.
The initiative follows a whole-of-government approach, with active participation from the Departments of Agriculture, Cooperation, Mission Shakti, and ORMAS, bringing greater synergy to the programme.
