Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 -- The Odisha government has prepared a District Action Plan (DAP) for each district well in advance of the forest fire season to effectively combat forest fires.
According to official sources, fire lines have been created in forest interiors and border areas. Awareness campaigns at the forest and range levels, including information dissemination, banners, and advertisements on forest fire prevention, are being displayed at strategic locations. Additionally, mock fire drills are being conducted.
A trained fire prevention team has been formed, and the required number of firefighting vehicles, fire extinguishers, and fire protection equipment have been provided for firefighting operations.
