Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- The Odisha police have recovered about 3.8 tons out of 5 tons of explosives looted by Maoists on May 27, Odisha DGP Y B Khurania said on Wednesday.
Addressing newsmen here, Khurania said that about 5 tons of explosives were being transported from the explosives warehouse at Bada Gaon Itma to the Banko mine in a truck on May 27 when
the armed Maoists looted the explosives at gunpoint.
The armed Maoists intercepted a truck carrying licensed commercial explosives near the Banko stone quarry under K. Balang police limits and looted gelatin sticks and other high-intensity explosives, weighing about 5 tons.
