Bhubaneswar, Aug. 9 -- The Odisha Police has launched a state-wide campaign, Operation Garuda, from August 1 to curb crime and track down criminals. The drive will continue till August 14.

Addressing the media, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar said the operation is being led by Superintendents of Police (SPs) in all districts.

The campaign aims to execute Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs), prevent drug smuggling, seize illegal weapons, arrest criminals, raid gambling dens, and take action against various unlawful activities.

Kumar said that in the first week alone, the campaign has achieved notable results.
