Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Acting on the state government's directive to make Odisha drug-free and curb illegal narcotics trade, the Odisha Police has launched a special drive named 'Operation Prahar.'Between September 1 and 7, all district police units participated in the statewide crackdown, conducting raids at multiple locations.

During these operations, a large quantity of narcotics including ganja, brown sugar, and cough syrup was seized.

State Police Headquarters sources today said a total of 110 cases were registered and 157 accused arrested during the drive.

Within the last week, police registered 72 cases against ganja smuggling, seized 4,808 kg of ganja, and arrested 93 persons involved.
