Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- In a major crackdown, Odisha Police have detained 119 individuals, including 117 aspirants and two middlemen, in connection with a recruitment scam linked to the Sub-Inspector (SI) examination conducted by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB).

The arrests followed the abrupt postponement of the SI written examination, originally scheduled for October 5 and 6, which the OPRB cited as due to "unforeseen reasons."Fresh dates are yet to be announced.

The sudden postponement sparked criticism from opposition parties.

Both the Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) accused the ruling BJP of governance failure and raised questions about the integrity of the recruitment process.
