Bhubaneswar, April 10 -- In a significant judgment, the Special POCSO Court in Angul has convicted 40-year-old Babula Jena for the brutal rape and murder of a minor girl and sentenced him to capital punishment or imprisonment for the remainder of his natural life.
The verdict was delivered by the Additional District Judge-cum-Special Court under the POCSO Act, Angul, within nearly one year of the accused's arrest, reflecting the swift administration of justice.
The convict, a resident of Dehury Sahi in Jereng village of Angul district, was found guilty of committing the heinous crime against a child aged 4 years and 10 months from Pidhakhaman village.
