Bhubaneswar, Feb. 7 -- The Odisha government is contemplating the creation of a Greater Bhubaneswar Economic Region, encompassing Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip.
While reviewing various activities of the Housing and Urban Development Department at Lok Seva Bhawan on Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the necessity of such a plan from both urbanization and economic perspectives to achieve a developed Odisha by 2036.
The meeting discussed in detail the proposed Greater Bhubaneswar Economic Region, which includes Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip. The Chief Minister stated that there are plans to develop a total area of 8,500 square kilometers as a residential, habitable, and long-term economic region.
