Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1 -- The Odisha Government has embarked on an ambitious Quad City Programme aimed at transforming the state's leading cities into engines of economic growthand global competitiveness.

Under this initiative, the state plans to create integrated economic regions by clustering cities that make significant contributions to Odisha's GDP.

The first economic zone will link Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, and Paradip-forming a unique combination of administration, culture, commerce, and port-driven trade.

Similarly, another zone will be developed connecting Sunabeda, Koraput, Bargarh, and Sambalpur, while the northern region will emerge with Rourkela and Barbil (Keonjhar) as key hubs.
