Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 -- The Odisha government has reaffirmed that paddy procurement across the state is proceeding in a smooth, systematic, and transparent manner. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari dismissed allegations of widespread mismanagement at mandis, asserting that there is no chaos, no stagnation in paddy lifting, and no delay in payments to farmers.
Responding to Opposition claims that poor management at mandis has forced farmers into distress sales, Pujari, in a statement here, acknowledged minor irregularities in some locations but maintained that the overall system remains well-coordinated through continuous monitoring at all levels.
