Bhubaneshwar, Dec. 5 -- The Odisha government has decided to procure millets to provide remunerative price to the farmers growing millets with emphasis on the distribution of the procured produce through various State Government schemes and supply to the Central Reserve of the Central Government through the Food Corporation of India, an official said on Thursday.

Principal Secretary Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Arabinda Kumar Padhee said various steps have been taken to facilitate this year's millet procurement programme by including the maximum number of millet growers.

The millet will be procured under the 'Shree Anna Abhiyan' scheme at a remunerative price to the farmers, he said.
