Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- In a bold step to strengthen urban housing, the Odisha government has unveiled PMAY-Urban BANDHU (Beneficiary Assistance for Nurturing Development of Housing Units) in its Financial Budget 2026-27, aiming to fast-track affordable housing delivery across towns and cities.
The scheme is designed to provide targeted assistance to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families while extending housing support to eligible landless urban households.
By addressing existing gaps and enhancing implementation capacity, PMAY-Urban BANDHU complements the ongoing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U), ensuring faster execution and broader coverage.
