Bhubaneswar, Jan. 6 -- The Odisha Information Commission has directed the state police to investigate an alleged case of bribery involving a habitual RTI applicant.
The Registrar of the Commission has written to the Director General of Police, Odisha, requesting a detailed investigation into the matter.
The directive follows the receipt of a complaint accompanied by a video clip, which reportedly shows an RTI applicant demanding illegal gratification from a Public Information Officer (PIO) in exchange for withdrawing an RTI case.
The applicant, identified as Tankadhar Sahu of Balangir district, is alleged to have filed hundreds of RTI applications against various government departments. Many of these cases are currently pending before th...
