Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water (PR&DW) Department should conduct a comprehensive study of Gram Panchayats and revenue villages to explore the possibility of increasing the number of Gram Panchayats in the state, suggested Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.

Dr. Kambhampati made this suggestion during a review meeting on the overall activities of the PR&DW Department, held at the New Abhishek Hall in Raj Bhavan.

The meeting was attended by Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Girish S.N., senior departmental officials, and Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor, Roopa Roshan Sahoo.
