Bhubaneswar, March 6 -- The Odisha government has directed all district functionaries to launch a massive enforcement drive to curb illegal mining and transportation.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who chaired a video conference with the Collectors, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police across the state, issued the directive on Thursday.

Strict instructions have been given to conduct raids on sand and stone quarries, prevent illegal mining at the source, and take legal action against the accused. Simultaneously, stringent measures will be enforced against the illegal transport of minerals and transportation without an E-Transit Pass.
