Bhubaneswar, Jan. 3 -- The Odisha government will soon undertake restoration work for Chilika Lake, Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and a designated Ramsar site, as its brackish nature has been adversely affected due to the silting of the lake's mouth.
Odisha Works Minister Prithivraj Harichandan has directed departmental officials, the Chilika Development Authority (CDA), and IIT Chennai to immediately initiate restoration measures and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) based on comprehensive scientific studies.
