Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 -- The Odisha Government has prepared a detailed roadmap to complete procurement of Kharif crops by the end of November, Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo said today.

Chairing the first meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on procurement for the 2025-26 Kharif season, Singh Deo said permanent model mandis would be set up with the coordination of various departments.

He directed officials to ensure farmer-friendly measures while drafting the roadmap.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment portfolio, said many non-paddy farmers have switched to paddy cultivation, encouraged by the state government's additional input assistance of Rs.800 per quintal.
