Bhubaneswar, Dec. 5 -- The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department of the Odisha Government has requested the Home Department to lodge an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell after a fake letter announcing the creation of a Gram Panchayat Peon post went viral on social media.
According to official sources, the forged letter, dated November 24 and bearing the number PR-PADM-OM-PG-064-2025/4232-falsely claims that the government has approved a new post of Gram Panchayat Peon with a monthly salary of Rs. 13,160.
The Department clarified that no such letter was ever issued and confirmed that the document is completely fabricated.
