Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati today urged the Coffee Board and the district administration to prepare comprehensive plans for expanding coffee plantations in Koraput district.

Interacting with stakeholders of coffee cultivation on the first day of his four-day tour to Koraput and Malkangiri districts, the Governor stressed the need to provide easier access for farmers to take up coffee cultivation.

He said such measures would encourage wider participation and enhance production in the region.

The Governor noted that since Koraput is a Scheduled Area, farmers often face challenges in securing suitable land for cultivation due to restrictions on land ownership and transfer.
