Bhubaneswar, Dec. 18 -- The Odisha government has urged farmers across the state to actively participate in the ongoing paddy procurement process.
Official sources on Thursday reported that paddy procurement is currently underway in Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh.
The process will continue in phases across various districts, following the decisions of the District Level Paddy Procurement Committees.
So far, a total of 2,24,704 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 49,051 farmers in these districts. Notably, Sambalpur has seen higher procurement this year, with paddy collected from 18,891 farmers compared to 14,896 farmers on the same date last year.
