Bhubaneswar, Jan. 8 -- Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) on Thursday withdrew its statewide agitation, including the two-hour daily shutdown of Outpatient Department (OPD) services, following discussions with Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling. Government doctors across Odisha had earlier resorted to a one-hour OPD shutdown, which was later extended to two hours, to press for the fulfilment of a ten-point charter of demands.

These demands included cadre restructuring, promotions, post-mortem allowances, higher incentives for specialists and super-specialists, an exit policy for doctors serving in KBK and KBK-plus regions, and a salary hike for dentists.
