Bhubaneswar, July 19 -- Odisha is reaping benefits with higher budget allocations from the Central Government for railway development with a twelve-fold increase in fiscal Government from that of 2009-14-UPA Government, Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna said here today.

Minister Somanna said this while conducting an extensive inspection of the ongoing redevelopment works at Bhubaneswar railway station. The redevelopment forms part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to transform railway stations across the nation into world-class facilities.

Rs.10,599 crore was allocated to Odisha in the 2025 Budget, a 12.5-fold increase from the Rs.838 crore allocated during the 2009-14 period.
