Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- In a major enforcement operation, Odisha's Excise Department seized contraband worth Rs.1.77 crore in a single day as part of its ongoing drive against illegal liquor and narcotics.
Officials registered 312 cases and arrested 58 individuals across the state Tuesday.
The seizures included 19,219 BL of illicit distilled (ID) liquor, 688 BL of duty-paid liquor, and 244,770 BL of wash destroyed. Additionally, nine litres of duplicate foreign liquor, 600 kg of mohua flowers, and four kg of bhang were recovered.
Four vehicles used in the illegal trade were also confiscated.
