Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17 -- On the 16th day of its statewide enforcement drive, Odisha Excise officials seized contraband worth Rs.1.53 crore during raids across various districts.
According to officials, 219 cases were detected in a single day, on Tuesday leading to the arrest of 132 persons.
The raids resulted in the seizure of 8,289 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 442 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor, while 94,380 litres of wash intended for distillation was destroyed.
Additionally, 1,226 kg of Mohua flowers were confiscated, and nine vehicles were impounded for their involvement in the illegal trade.
