Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- In a landmark initiative, Odisha today inaugurated its first public breastfeeding room at the Odisha State Commission for Women office.
The facility was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida as part of the state-level celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Parida recommended the establishment of similar breastfeeding centres in all public and private institutions across the state to better support working and lactating mothers.
Highlighting the emotional and physical bond that breastfeeding fosters, she remarked, "Breastfeeding brings the child closer to the mother's heart."
