Bhubaneswar, May 16 -- Approximately 1.7 lakh WhatsApp groups have been created under the "Odisha Summer Learning Programme" to support students studying at home during the summer vacation.

According to official sources, over 11 lakh parents have joined these WhatsApp groups, which were established under the supervision of teachers.

The programme is being implemented statewide by the Department of School and Mass Education with the aim of keeping students from Classes 1 to 8 in government schools engaged with their studies during the holidays.

Students are learning through creative educational materials involving numbers, letters, and various hands-on tools.
