Odisha constitutes Monitoring Committee for Eco-Sensitive area management

Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- A Monitoring Committee will be constituted to oversee the notification of Environmentally Sensitive Zones as per the approved Zonal Master Plan for the management of Environmentally Sensitive Areas, Forest,Odisha Environment and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia said.

Singhkhuntia, who held a detailed discussion with the MLAs of Mayurbhanj district on the declaration of Similipal as an Eco-Sensitive Area,on Wednesday said that the District Collector of Mayurbhanj will be the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee as per sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. The Deputy Director of Similipal South Wildlife Division will serve as the Member-Secretary.
