Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- The Opposition Congress has rescheduled its year-long Padayatra in view of the upcoming by-election to the Nuapada Assembly seat, party sources said today.

OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das said the first phase of the Padayatra will begin from Motu in tribal-dominated Malkangiri district on October 2 but will continue only for two days.

The second phase will resume after the Nuapada by-election and continue for a year.

Das alleged that the state government has failed to protect Odisha's borders, and the Padayatra aims to make people aware of the issue.
