Bhubaneshwar, May 1 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday paid glowing tributes to Pandit Raghunath Murmu on the occasion of the 121st birth anniversary of the inventor of the 'Ol Chiki' script for the Santali language.

Pandit Murmu played a crucial role in preserving cultural identity and giving a distinct recognition to the Santali language, Chief Minister Majhi said while speaking on the occasion.

By developing the 'Ol Chiki' script for Santali, he created history and made an invaluable contribution, Majhi said, describing Pandit Murmu as a legendary figure of the Santali community and expressed pride in his legacy, he further said.
