Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today ordered a high-level probe into the death of a five-year-old female elephant in Sarpali village under the Redhakhol forest division in Sambalpur district.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, the Chief Minister said that no one involved would be spared and that strict action would be taken against the culprits.
The elephant reportedly died after being attacked by a man in Sarpali village, located in the Nakti Deul area of the Redhakhol forest division.
Following the Chief Minister's directive, a team led by Chief Conservator of Forests Manoj Nair rushed to the site to investigate the matter.
