Bhubaneswar, Dec. 23 -- In a significant step to enhance healthcare services in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday inaugurated 150 new ambulances, marking the first phase of a major upgrade to the state's emergency medical services.

The Health Department has procured a total of 428 new 108 ambulances to benefit the people of Odisha.

This initiative includes replacing 419 old ambulances and two that were completely damaged in accidents.

Additionally, five Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances will be deployed for airport and airstrip services under the Commerce and Transport Department, while two ALS ambulances will be assigned to Jharsuguda Cardiac Care Hospital.
