Bhubaneswar, Nov. 15 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday paid tribute to the legendary tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on his 151st birth anniversary and inaugurated development projects worth Rs.1,345 crore in Rourkela for Sundargarh district.
He also laid the foundation stone for additional projects valued at Rs.609 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, observed as Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas, Majhi described Birsa Munda as an immortal figure in Indian history and a patriotic warrior.
"During British rule, Birsa united fighters across the Bihar-Jharkhand region against oppression, leading a massive revolutionary movement," he said.
