Bhubaneswar, Feb. 10 -- Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a hike of Rs 500 per month to the beneficiaries under the Madhu Babu pension scheme.
With the hike in the pension the beneficiaries under the scheme will get a minimum pension of Rs.1000 per month which will be implemented from February, a release issued by the Chief Minister's Office sources said.
The pension for the month of February will be paid to the beneficiaries between February 20 and 25.
Recently the Chief Minister has added four lakhs more beneficiaries under the Madhu Babu Pension scheme while in August last year, the government had added 4.13 lakhs more beneficiaries thus taking the total beneficiaries in the state to 36.75 lakhs.
