Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today directed officials to rationalise the appointment of medical officers across Odisha to ensure adequate deployment of doctors, particularly in tribal and underserved regions.

Majhi reviewed the state's health service system at a meeting of the Health and Family Welfare Department, stressing the urgent need to fill vacancies of doctors and professors in medical institutions.

During the discussions, it was revealed that 1,840 doctors and medical officers, along with over 5,000 paramedical staff, will soon be appointed.
