Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today approved themuch-awaited Mahanadi Riverfront Development Project, to be implemented between 2025-26and 2027-28 with an estimated expenditure of Rs 240 crore.
The entire project cost will be borne from the state government's own resources through the Department of Water Resources.
Announcing the approval, the Chief Minister said the Mahanadi is the lifeline of Odisha, and significant stretches of the river will be transformed into major hubs for environmental, cultural,and spiritual tourism.
"These riverfront destinations will play a crucial role in boosting Odisha's economy," he added.
